If you aren’t an experienced cake decorator bake a sheet cake and frost it simply. You can use canned frosting if you wish. Then top the cake with small plastic horses. Get some shredded coconut and tint it a yellowish-brown with food coloring. Sprinkle the coconut like hay around the horses. Take some pretzel sticks and poke them into the border of the top of the cake to simulate a corral fence. You get the idea. Find some candies and other plastic figures that might help complete the look. If you want to get fancy you can make a graham cracker “barn” by “cementing” cracker sections together with frosting.
Just have fun and know that he will be thrilled that you did it for him.

Most bakeries (including those found in grocery stores) now have a gizmo that lets them take a photo, and create the icing…think of it as an inkjet printer for cake tops, and you get the idea, hehehe. My daughter had a hand drawn dragon, very intricate, which we took to the bakery, they scanned it, and reproduced it on the cake, exactly.
If you want a more ‘three dimensional’ approach, you can get the ‘farm toys’ from your local store… horses, cows, etc… usually along with some fencing, and maybe even a barn… and put those on the top of the cake. Use your imagination to create ‘greenery’ or pathways, etc.

CHARM CITY CAKES!
lol if not and im sure you are a normal person whop cant spend alot of $ on a cake, make a normal cake and get a design of a cake on it- either by drawing it yourself with icing or going to a local bakery. probably even your local grocery store can make a cake exactly to your liking up for you! good luck

I think that J S has a really good idea.
This is also a VERY cute horse cake that doesn’t look difficult at all and this site gives you step by step instructions.
