Beck asked:

Hi im building my veg patch larger on the weekend, im going to deeply turn over the soil, add horse manure and put compost about 1/2 - 1 foot high on top.

as soon as you turn it for the second time, within a day is good.

When we planted our garden with Steer Manure we just mixed it really good then planted the same day we lost a few things from the snails but everything else is doing very well. Also turkey manure is very good for your flowers.

I agree with “after the second turning”. Horse manure is not as good as cow manure due to the digestive process differences in the animals. The only problem will be more weed seeds in horse manure.
